The future of organic farming – Trouw 03/2023
What can a future in agriculture look like that offers farmers a secure and fair income?
At Kattendorfer Hof in Schleswig-Holstein, an organic farm with around 90 people, "Community Supported Agriculture" has been practiced successfully for many years. According to the concept of "Community Supported Agriculture", all food is shared among the members. Through the monthly contributions of the members, the costs incurred for the farm, rent, wages, machinery and much more, are supported. Members thus have fresh and local food all year round, and farmers have financial security even when the harvest is poor.
