"We've never experienced anything like this here"
Severe floods inundated numerous towns and cities across Germany in 2024: at the turn of the year in Lower Saxony, in May in Saarland, and shortly afterward in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The consequences included evacuations, power outages, and thousands of rescue operations. Yet, there was also a remarkable willingness among the population to help.
